A Free Man

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 11, 2009, 11:50 PM
It's been too long...

Greetings, greetings.

Considering i am once again subscribed for a number of months (thanks again *SinistralPhotography) i figure its time for a long awaited journal update. Yes school is well and truely over and i now look apon myself as a free man, a pioneer of his own life.

As my first act i have started my windsurfing course at great cost to my body and my photography (Audience goes "awwwwww"). I'll try and get uploading soon, as my gallery is going stale with old works and my camera is collecting a fine layer of dust.

In other news my birthday is on saturday, as usual coinciding with Valentines day (Audience: "awwwwwwww!!"). Finally an 18 year old, sneaking into pubs will no longer be an issue...

Sneakyness comes with age :)

Bushfire Appeal
"The 2009 Victorian Bushfire Fund to assist individuals and communities affected by devastating bushfires in <the state of> Victoria has been launched by the Premier John Brumby in partnership with Red Cross and the Federal Government <of Australia>...Over 160 lives lost with the number expected to increase as authorities access more homes and discover vehicles in which people attempted to escape the fires." many more have been left with only the clothes on their backs.

Please donate via the Red Cross at:

I'll try to sqeeze more journals out before my subscription ends, hopefully coinciding with more photos.

Cheers,

Robin xx

Head Down

So I'm kinda stressed...

Ya HSC is a major inconvenience. In the beginning its like a toe ache that is a constant niggling reminder that you have to tread carefully but now its like "oh hey, that ache turned out to be gangrene and its spread to your brain, imparing your sense of free time. We're going to have to amputate." *dies*
But hey. By 12.30pm friday It'll be over huzzah!
I'm also having photography withdrawls...mind you thats nothing compared with what you people are feeling, with me too busy to dazzle you with a single frame :D (humour me here)

To my wonderful css designer!
*SinistralPhotography :iconsinistralphotography:

Tada!

Just as a side note, I've taken to giving advice to randoms about their images i see pop up on the "Newest" section of browse.
If anyone wants a second opinion/advice about a shot (or to a lesser extent, pencil work or other forms...i like to diversify) I'd be happy to oblige.

Susanna you need more pics in your gallery. I just featured like half of them just now lol.

Gnight all.

A New Look

Thankyou Sir and Ma'am

Tis apparently a generous time of year, October. And noone is more greatful than I. Although this is not the first sub I've been given (thanks *AshleyXBrooke87), it will be the first to be used to its full potential.
So without further delay, a formal thanks mateys to ^PurpelBlur for the generous sub-giving and the ninja coding skillz of *SinistralPhotography for a most spiffy CSS :D I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as i do.

In other news...

Indeed, my social life has spun to zero as has my photography as i peer into the inky (how awesome is that word) blackness that is the Higher School Certificate. Two exams down and five to go.
My search for a convenient photography bachelor has lead me to a wonderful course at Griffith University in sunny Brisbane... Not exactly convenient but at least its near the water, which is really what matters after you spent 14k odd on a windsurfing course yaknow?

Anyhow...My photography will pick up again once the exams cease and probably after schoolies is over (i dunno i spose its the equivalent of spring break for those across the pacific) so do be patient with me.

For the sake of showing off...

Thanks for reading.
Susanna I promise I'll feature you at some stage when i get some more time :)

Till we meet again...

Rob xx (those are hugs. dont get any ideas.)

Huzzah! A DD at last.

I'd like to thank *Purelily for the kind suggestion and ^PurpelBlur for featuring it. It has brought me much love and popularity :bucktooth:

As it stands at 11.50pm (AEST) Thursday 11th Sept 2008 i have recieved approximately 546 favorites and watches from various devs from all walks of life and i thank you all for your kind support.

Meanwhile...(completely unrelated)

HSC exams are in 5 or so weeks (but who's counting). I'm already over it. I could do with a break right about now. Anyway I'm still searching for uni courses for after my gap year but the list hasnt really grown recently.
I have secured a place on a most expensive Windsurf Pro Instructor Traineeship which in 12 weeks will get me an international qualification and (hopefully) work abroad. Also the sailing season has started *deafening cheer*. Party on.

Dont expect many more photos uploaded in the next few months, its going to be pretty hectic but I'll try to slip in a few here and there.

Keep Snapping,

Rob :)

<edit> I'd also like to mention that my works are not to be manipulated or used in any way for personal gain or profit without my written permission. I have to say it. There are heartless people out there that do this kind of thing.

Free Time plz

hey hey.
seems i was in the mood for some procrastination so why not update my journal.

On the home front, everything is in ship shape. Still studying. still bored. My HSC trial exams are coming up in a few weeks so its head-down (occasionally) and crazy study (here and there).

Its at that time when i have to be thinking about uni courses and organising my gap year. There are plenty of photography courses, but none in town. Charles Sturt Uni offers an enticing bachelour of photography/graphic design at their Wagga Wagga campus, not too far to go, and Griffith University offers a similar course with the option of majoring in photojournalism. (but its in queensland :( )

decisions decisions

Meanwhile I've been looking in to a windsurfing instructors/sailing instructors course including 16 weeks intensive training. Its daym expensive though...

anyway thats it. gotta get back to work.
Peace

Rob
